Manogna needs your help to survive.
Every day is already a battle for Manogna, a 9 year old fighting thalassemia major, a condition that has meant regular blood transfusions and hospital visits since she was an infant. Despite this, she has remained a bright, cheerful child who always carries a smile on her face.
Recently, Manogna's world turned upside down. She contracted severe dengue , and because her body was already weakened by thalassemia, the infection triggered dangerous complications affecting her heart, liver, kidneys, brain, and bone marrow , along with a drop in platelet levels that has since improved somewhat. Manogna is currently critical and undergoing intensive treatment at Little Stars Hospital.
Her parents, Ravi Kumar and Lalitha, from Hyderabad, have already spent ₹2,00,000 on her treatment. They have borrowed from relatives and exhausted every resource they had. Doctors have told them that given the organ complications involved, the total cost of treatment could rise to ₹4,00,000 to ₹5,00,000 . This is far beyond what the family can bear on their own.
Manogna is fighting for her life, and every contribution, no matter the size, brings her closer to survival and a chance at a normal childhood. We are appealing to kind, compassionate people to come forward and help this family through this critical phase.
